“ZOL – Zidentyfikowany obiekt latający” (IFO – Identified Flying Object) is one of the most interesting releases of Polish rock music from the late 1970s, driven by the power of Nalepa’s laconic riffs – a raw, honest and emotional album. Recorded in 1979 at the Polskie Nagrania studio, it was released in 1980. Although it did not gain widespread publicity at the time of its release, today it is considered one of Breakout’s most authentic and mature albums.

The basis here is still blues music, but filtered through Tadeusz Nalepa’s rock fascinations (Free!). Songs such as “W cieniu bluesa” (In the Shadow of Blues), “Gdy masz przyjść” (When You Come) and “Pożegnalny blues” (Farewell Blues) showcase the leader’s compositional maturity and the excellent form of the band, in which the rhythm section of Krystian Wilczek and Marek Surzyn shines.

In terms of lyrics, Bogdan Loebl remained faithful to his poetics – most of the songs are lyrical, emotionally charged texts, related to his poetic work.
