“25 Greatest Hits” by Oliver Dragojević, the double LP of the cosmic Dalmatian, is on sale

Just as Miljenko Smoje made Dalmatia and Split famous in the literary and television sense with his“Malo i velo misto” (Small and Big Place), Oliver Dragojević brought the sensibility of Dalmatian and Mediterranean music to the widest audience in the most original way in the world of music.

Oliver’s musical fantasy has been going on since the moment he picked up the harmonica – his first instrument – at the age of five, and from then until today, the magic of Oliver’s songs has not faded, but continues to burn with the same brilliance.

From today on the double vinyl edition “25 Greatest Hits”, his rich music collection is rounded off, which is adorned with timeless hits such as “Cesarica” (Empress), “Trag u beskraju” (A Trail in Infinity), “Galeb i ja” (Seagull and Me), “Moj lipi anđele” (My Beautiful Angel), “Ča je život vengo fantažija” (What Is Life if not a fantasy), while the D side brings a section of Oliver’s most popular duets such as “Nije htjela” (She Didn’t Want to), “Nadalina” (Nadalina) and “Morski vuk” (Shark). This edition includes an interview with Oliver who talks about his beginnings, performances, festivals, authors, colleagues, the industry...

It makes no sense to list all the most prestigious festival and discography awards that Oliver had in his possession, because the text would become really too long to read, but one should be mentioned. Oliver was the laureate of the first award of the Croatian discography award “Porin” in 1994, which was largely due to his performance of Gibonni’s composition “Cesarica” (Empress). With “Cesarica” Oliver confirmed that, like an old sea wolf, he will survive all historical turbulences and that he will not be remembered as a singer of a time that has passed, but that his musical expression will last and forever remain relevant even among the younger generations.

In 2023 Croatia Records started the “25 Greatest Hits” series exclusively on vinyl. It has been a music project that aims to recall the most significant, popular and best-selling authors, performers and songs. The authors of this series are the music lovers and connoisseurs Želimir Babogredac, director of the record company Croatia Records and Zlatko Turkalj, music critic, journalist and radio editor. Iva Vianello from Črčke Design is responsible for the graphic solution.
