Finally, you have the opportunity to listen to the whole concert as it took place at the underground homestead in Nová Víska near Kadana on 29th October 1979. Magor’s introduction, a brass band, during which the band played cards, drank rum and then played three pieces as if they were written by Ladislav Klíma himself.

Honza Brabec: “The darkest, harshest, least concentrated, nervous, full of a kind of fear and depression – it’s simply an unwanted record of some kind of “shenanigans” of the time. In the gloomy winter, secret rehearsals in the half-decayed farmhouses of dark, unheated rooms, touching the visionary Ladislav Klíma and a kind of omnipresent tension and a feeling of abandonment – many people were leaving for emigration, Martin was being dragged around the prisons, and soon Vráťa was to leave us, too. Just such an endless round of “fields of five”, when the logs were almost hammering us into the ground. That’s probably how Vráťa’s project “Jak bude po smrti” (How It Will Be after Death) was created.”

Exceptionally, the title does not feature a painting by a related artist, but a tombstone of Ladislav Klíma at the Malvazinka cemetery in Prague. Photos from the concert were kindly provided by Abbe Libánský, Ondřej Němec and Vojtěch Stádník.
