Symphony of Horror Based on the Film by F. W. Murnau

A recording of a live concert during the screening of the film “Nosferatu” (a classic work of silent film from 1922) by F. W. Murnau, presented on the occasion of the 1st Music on Film – Film on Music Festival at 16.10.2004 in the Světozor cinema. A recording of the concert (two cellos, violin, bass, drums, voice, iron, zither), which with its exceptional quality of musical accompaniment and incredible urgency will stand up as an independent musical recording.

Pavel Zajíček first heard about the film when an old friend remarked that he looked exactly like a movie vampire. Zajíček and DG 307 have accompanied the film with live performances on several occasions, however, as Pavel Zajíček told us, composing the music for this live performance “fascinated him as much as a blank canvas”... or maybe like a mirror without a reflection!

The line-up on the album: Pavel Zajíče: voice, zither, iron; Dalibor Pyš: violin; Tomáš Schilla: cello; Oto Sukovský: bass guitar; Přemysl Drozd: drums; Josef Klíč as a guest: cello.
