Vladimír Mišík, whose recent album “Jednou tě potkám” (Someday I’ll Meet You) won six Anděl awards and received excellent reviews, is releasing a new studio album entitled “Noční obraz” (Night Picture) in September 2021. He has collaborated on it again with the producer Petr Ostrouchov and his band Blue Shadows, just like in the case of the previous album.

The album’s repertoire consists of Mišík’s own lyrics and poems by Jan Skácel, Václav Hraběte, Jiří Orten and František Hrubín. The authors of the music are Petr Ostrouchov and Vladimír Mišík. The final track of the album is the song “Děkuji” (Thank You), set to the lyrics of a poem by the recently deceased David Stypka.

The new album features a number of distinguished international guests, such as Blind Boys of Alabama, Jerry Douglas, the Irish stars Davy Spillane and Dónal Lunny, the percussionist from Paul Simon’s band Jamey Haddad or the mandolinist Mike Marshall, and local musicians such as organist Ondřej Pivec, pianist Jan Steinsdörfer, saxophonist František Kop or world-famous horn player Radek Baborák and his ensemble. Lenka Dusilová, Robert Křesťan, Lenka Nová, Markéta Foukalová and a trio of New York gospel vocalists recorded with Mišík as guest vocalists.
