A historic, unique and unrepeatable meeting of the singer of the cult band The Residents Randy Rose with the Czech alternative legend Už Jsme Doma (We are Home already).

The songs from this album were performed at the Moravian Theatre in Olomouc in 2010. At the time, Olomouc’s Caesar Gallery was hosting a retrospective exhibition called “Residents in Residence – Art Retrospective”, which included drawings, costumes, masks and other artifacts related to The Residents, and since there was interest in supporting the exhibition with a concert, the band Už Jsme Doma was asked if they could prepare their own versions of The Residents’ songs and play them during the exhibition. As The Residents’ lead singer Randy Rose was invited to the opening (in addition to the artist Leigh Barbier), this provided a rare opportunity to have him on stage with Už Jsme Doma.

The Residents and Už Jsme Doma have been friends for over 25 years and this was not the first collaboration between the two. The first one was the 1995 performance “Freak Show Live”, which was musically directed by Miroslav Wanek and the group Už Jsme Doma, augmented by several other musicians, was a kind of collective actor, i.e. a circus band. Wanek also arranged and conducted the whole performance.

For the joint concert in Olomouc, 13 songs were selected, partly by Miroslav Wanek and partly by Randy Rose. Wanek rearranged the songs for the current Už Jsme Doma line-up and their typical style, of course with all respect to the style of The Residents and the atmosphere of the songs as performed by them.

The concert in Olomouc was called “Jejich nejkrásnější květiny” (Their Finest Flowers, a reference to the album “Our Finest Flowers” by the Residents) and had two parts: in the first one Už Jsme Doma played their own repertoire based mostly on the album “Jeskyně” (The Cave), and in the second one Randy Rose joined Už Jsme Doma and together they played 13 songs by The Residents. The recording of this part of the concert is now in your hands.

It was a Moravian reunion of two longtime close friends.
