The album “Aerolit” (SACD Hybrid) by Czesław Niemen in a limited edition, in the series “Polskie Nagrania Catalogue Selections”. This is the first edition of this album in the SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc) format. The choice of this format is a nod to audiophiles.

“Aerolit” (Aerolite) is one of the most interesting albums of the Czesław Niemen’s career, recorded by a band that Niemen himself considered years later to be the best he had worked with. Unfortunately, the band existed for a very short time and only recorded this one studio album, which was released in 1975. The group consisted of Sławomir Piwowar (guitar), Andrzej Nowak (electric piano, clavinet), Jacek Gazda (bass guitar), Piotr Dziemski (drums) and Czesław Niemen (mellotron, Moog).

The album features interpretations of classic poems by the Polish poets Cyprian Kamil Norwid, Zbigniew Herbert, Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska and Jonasz Kofta. Different styles and eras, adaptations equally intriguing and captivating. With his band Niemen reaches out to contemporary music, avant-garde and jazz rock.
